Abe Lincoln

Scholars are calling it the most significant find of its kind in generations: a pair of stereoscopic photos, reportedly of Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg before he delivered his famous address. Before these were discovered, Matthew Brady's photograph was previously the only known photo of Lincoln at Gettysburg. Photos of Lincoln are incredibly rare; only about 130 exist. Until now, there was only one known photo of the 16th president at Gettysburg. These new photographs were discovered in the Library of Congress. As a photography enthusiast, looking at these new photographs are actually pretty cool to me. I love photographs from the Civil War - especially those taken by Matthew Brady. I have read several books on the pioneer of photo-journalism and if you ever have a chance, take a look at some of his photos. Below, I posted Brady's photo of Lincoln at Gettysburg and the new photos as well.
