The Longest Day

It was my first full 8 hour day at work and I swear to God. There were times when I looked at the clock and time was actually moving backwards. It didn't help that yesterday, our entire network went down and this morning, my computer was the only computer at work still not hooking up to the internet. I couldn't sign onto the internet, my e-mail, my instant messenger, nothing. It was the most horrible four hours of my life. I couldn't do anything except stare at fixture schedules to jobs that aren't due for at least a week. It was horribly boring. I probably would have had more fun literally ripping my hair out. Thank god for Mike who is the computer guru in our office. My computer didn't get up and running until after lunch but at least Mike was there in the morning to try to fix it. He was the one who sat through the call with India, our ITS desk, to try and get it working again. I should buy him a lighter as a thank you since he's always borrowing Linda's. I hope that tomorrow will move a bit faster through the 8 hours and I pray to god that my internet and email will be working tomorrow. I really can't do anything when my computer decides to suck.
