Ikea-Filled Weekend
Well, mom, dad and Maxwell left about an hour ago. I was supposed to go to this cookie exchange party that was being hosted by my cousin Michelle but my cousin Donna forgot to pick me up but it's okay. I'm just trying to remember what she told me Thursday at work. Was I supposed to call her or was she just picking me up? I could have sworn she said she would pick me up but I'm not sure now. Oh well. My cousins are all bakers even though I think the cookies my mom made are damn good.
We went to Ikea on Saturday and spent hours inside but I bought a new desk so I finally have my own writing space. I had never experienced putting together a piece of furniture from Ikea until last night but in all, it took my dad and me about 4 1/2 hours to put it all together with much cursing involved. It was a nightmare. There are no written instructions because Ikea is an international company so all you have are these stupid little pictures that at times can make zero sense! Actually just thinking about it again is making my blood begin to boil a little so I'll stop. Besides, I adore my desk. It's a secretary's desk but the top hutch was all sold out but my dad and I will be returning to Ikea in January to get it so my desk will be absolutely complete in about a month or so. Or hopefully that's true. I'm not sure. I just know that I love my desk.

I don't think the things from Ikea are that hard to put together. Almost everything in our apt is from Ikea and although I did not put the stuff together, Ryan did not curse at all which surprise me.
Melissa, no offense but this secretary's desk was quite intricate to put together. I'm sure even Ryan would have had some problems with it.
Ok, what happened to the real Melissa and who is this pretender ?
There is no way Ryan put together Ikea furniture without cussing, using tools as weapons, or trying to kill you.
