17 More Days

I cannot help it. I am getting more and more excited for Christmas. And it's coming up quickly whether we want it to or not. I came home for lunch as I always do and my parents, who are staying with me this weekend, had gone to Mernard's and had done some serious shopping. My mom had decked my house out in snowmen and poinsettias and a tree skirt for my tree and more ornaments... it looks great. My grandparents had lived there for over 50 years and no one had ever seen the house so cozy and warm looking. It put me in a serious holiday mood. I can't wait for Christmas. And this year is the first year I've had an official job so I actually had money to spend on gifts for my family - well, except for my dad because really. He is impossible to shop for. I have Christmas parties to go to then drive home and celebrate the holiday with my family for a few days. And I wasn't able to snoop around the house for presents this year since I'm five hours away so this is a year where I'll be actually surprised with what I'm getting.
