Back to the Grindstone

It was such a wonderful morning when after hearing about it, you will realize how sad my life has truly become. Baxter not only peed outside this morning but he pooed – all before a tumultuous late summer thunderstorm exploded. He earned those liver treats!

Last night was a bit tiring for me. After driving for 6 hours, which was longer than usual due to a few overturned semis on the road to Dayton, Baxter peed [which was good] but then I had to put him back in the crate to unpack the car. His barking could be heard throughout the entire street. I feel so bad for the neighbors that must listen to him being a brat when all I have to do is have a few minutes unloading everything I brought back with me from Ohio, including a container of yummy pasta salad and cookies my mom made for me. Of course, the unpacking of the car took a bit longer mainly because of how I pack. I had one suitcase entirely dedicated to a collection of books I insisted on traveling with.

On the plus side though, Baxter has many new toys to play with and keep himself busy so last night, as he tore through the living room and kitchen, playing with balls and ropes and stuffed turtles and dogs, I got to watch a marathon of “Project Runway”, FINALLY catching me up with one of my favorite shows since I missed the first three episodes.

Work this morning already made me want to rip my hair out. I had 5 voice messages, which is fine. I don’t think I got 5 phone calls all last week. What really made me want to scream was Terry a.k.a. The Dumper. Standing up from my chair, I can see the copy/fax/printer machine across the office. I should have known better because I saw him standing there but I was thirsty and I needed to pass him to get to the water cooler. As soon as he saw me, he was asking me to do things for him. He couldn’t even find cheap plastic covers for something he was working on! And then he had me type a cover page, which he didn’t know how to do. Come on for god’s sakes! A monkey would know to click on Microsoft word and type a total of 7 words in a large bold font. Grrrrrr! What an idiot.
