Rome

If you have the chance to either rent or buy HBO's Rome, I highly recommend it. In the tradition of The Sopranos, Deadwood, The Wire, and Carnivale, HBO hit the mark yet again. The Roman Empire and the turbulent times of Julius Ceaser, his adopted successor Octavian, Marc Anthony and Cleopatra are seen through the eyes of soldiers Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo and their families. The friendship between Lucious and Pullo is hilarious and Pullo dealing with his feelings for the slave girl Eirene is the minor love story that I love to give my attention to. The period piece show is wonderfully done and is addicting. Watching one episode just isn't enough. Yet another reason on the list of why I wished I had HBO.

It's scary how similar our tastes are! I'm sorry to tell you, this will be the last season of Rome...
