Pump It Out

It's the age old tale. Company makes an original television movie. Original television movie exceeds expectations. Original television movie makes a barrel of money. And then the Company decides that it needs a sequel. And a theatrical release.

Not only is Disney already planning a High School Musical sequel for this upcoming summer but now it seems that the Disney Co. said it will follow up on the success of its High School Musical made-for-TV movie and franchise by releasing a big screen movie Haunted High School Musical in 2008. As a die-hard fan of the movie, am I excited? You betcha! But after I pay to see this movie in the theater, I really hope that Disney will just stop pumping it out like a factory. We don't need them to ruin this like they did most of their animated movies by adding ridiculous sequels such as Cinderella III or Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure.
