My Music

Jimmy's younger brother, Patrick, emailed a bunch of his friends with this music survey that he had to create for one of his classes. He has to composite all of our answers and make pie charts and graphs. As someone who is used to complete b.s. assignments from teachers, I of course agreed to help him out. Here were some of the questions and the answers I gave him.

Fav. Band (s): Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, The Band, Mat Kearney, The Clash, Allman Brothers, Thin Lizzy, Wolfmother, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Regina Spektor, Joe Walsh, Paolo Nutini, Queen, The Raconteurs, Joni Mitchell, Dr. John, The Frames, and Incubus

Fav. Song (s): Free Bird - Skynyrd, Saturday Night Special - Skynyrd, What Is and What Should Never Be - Zeppelin; The Weight - The Band, Nothing Left to Lose - Mat Kearney, Strange and Beautiful - Aqualung, California - Joni Mitchell

Fav. Live Band (s): Incubus

Fav. Album (s): London Calling - The Clash; The Last Waltz - The Band

Fav. Song (s) to Sing in the Car: Jenny Don't Be Hasty - Paolo Nutini, Alive With the Glory of Love - Say Anything, Such A Night - Dr. John, Rocky Mountain Way - Joe Walsh

Fav. Karaoke Song (s): Heat of the Moment - Asia, The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzy

If you could see any band in concert, what would it be? Lynyrd Skynyrd w/ Ronnie Van Zant

If you could have someone sing you one song, what would it be? Fire - Jimi Hendrix

If you could be credited writing any song, what would it be? Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

If you could meet anyone in music, who would it be? Ronnie Van Zant or Rick Danko and Levon Helm from The Band

One song constantly on your mixed cds? Midnight Rider - Allman Brothers, Nothing Left to Lose - Mat Kearney

~There were about twenty more questions and after answering them, I learned one thing about myself. I am really a Lynyrd Skynyrd fanatic. But I kind of already knew that about me. I recently told my mom that I my music was from another time. I couldn't be more right.

I have no idea how Patrick is going to make this chart. With yours and my answers alone, we have absolutely nothing in common. Although, now don't tell anyone, but you did get me to like Joni Mitchell. Imagine. A black kid singing Joni Mitchell.
