Rage On

I keep forgetting to mention this even though the news made my day when I heard it. When L.A. based revolution-sparking activist band Rage Against the Machine broke up nearly seven years ago, I honestly cried. I became a huge fan in junior high and high school when one of my best friends, Brett, made me listen to them. I had never heard anything like what frontman Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk were putting out there. When they broke up, de la Rocha kept a low profile while the other bandmates joined up with ex-Soundgarden member Chris Cornell to form the band Audioslave. Now, don't get me wrong. Audioslave is a perfectly good band. But they're no Rage.

So when I heard of their impending reunion a few days ago, I nearly squealed. It made me so happy to hear. Linda had heard it on the radio during her cruise and had immediately thought of me, knowing that I'm a huge fan. Rage Against the Machine is reuniting to co-headline the 2007 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival Apr. 27-29 in Indio, California. Now, obviously I won't be able to go to Indio, California to see them and I envy anyone that can but hopefully, this reunion will last past the festival and Rage will be getting back in the studio for a new cd.
