Books

This is the first Christmas I can remember where I got more books than movies. Actually, I only got three DVDs for Christmas this year. Here are the books that will be occupying my evenings for a while:

1. The Poe Shadow - Matthew Pearl (He also wrote The Dante Club which I highly recommend)
2. World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War - Max Brooks (this one was from Bill)
3. Special Topics in Calamity Physics - Marisha Pessl
4. The Fourth Bear - Jasper Fforde (from the brilliant mind who wrote The Big Over Easy)
5. The Book of Lost Things - John Connolly (the one I was most excited about)
6. New Moon - Stephenie Meyer (the sequel to Twilight, one of my favorite books)
7. Ophelia - Lisa Klein (a more detailed look at Shakespeare's character Ophelia from Hamlet. I normally do not support such stories, which I call glorified fan fiction. But the girl on the front cover looked so haunting, I became intrigued)
8. Eragon - Christopher Paolini (Recently made into a movie, I heard the book was much better)
9. Spook and 10. Stiff - Mary Roach
11. Tithe - Holly Black (I love fantasy novels)
12. Howl's Moving Castle - Diana Wynne Jones

Yea! Yea! Yea! More books for me to get my hands on. I love your choice in books because although they are usually tragic, they're beautiful. But I still don't like Hubert Selby Jr. Sorry Katie. I just can't read his stuff. Or William Burroughs. I know. You can stop being my friend.
