As someone who had watched season 1 of Bravo's Top Chef, I know for a fact that season 2 has paled in comparison. The chefs competing this season for the title have all seen far too much reality television and have made drama, fighting, attacking one another, threatening one another, and cheating more important than the food, which is what this show is supposed to be about. At times, it seemed more like a bad episode of "The Real World" instead of a show about cooking.
Last night was the first half of the two-parter season finale and within that episode, too many things happened that angered me but the one that left me dumbfounded was the elimination of Sam, who moments before had just won fan favorite, and who had repeatedly throughout the show proved his professionalism, leadership, and cooking abilites. If I was a betting woman, my money would have been on Sam. And I would have lost. He was told last night to pack his knives and go, leaving the two chefs battling it out in the finale to be Ilan and Marcel. This entire season has angered me and I'm afraid that after last night, it might have been the last straw for me. First Uli not winning on "Project Runway" and now this. Bravo, please. You've always had the best television shows. Don't ruin it all by making your reality shows like every other piece of crap found on every other station.

I wish Sam would have made it to the finale, but I could kind of see why he was voted off yesterday. True, he has been one the best chef week after week, but I guess he didn't take a great enough risk with his dishes yesterday. I really hate that Marcel made it. His is too pretentious. I can't believe he did a foam yesterday! I would never eat at a restaurant he was chef at. Although, on my next trip to Cali, I am going to eat at Betty's restaurant in LA. I am rooting to Ilan to win the finale! (My ideal finale would be Cliff vs. Sam, that would have been a good one!)
