So, I realized that this year, I'm not really watching that much television. My bigs nights are Wednesdays and Thursdays and not really anything else the rest of the week. But I will admit something. I am in love with the new show "My Boys" on Tuesday nights on TBS. I watched the two episodes that aired last night and was laughing my head off. It takes place in Chicago and is all about P.J., a sports writer and a guys' girl. Her closest companions are Brendan, Kenny, Mike and her older brother Andy. The great thing about this show is that the dialogue and the characters are actually funny. I could see me and my friends talking about similar things in similar ways. When out helping Kenny, Mike and Brendan pick up girls, acting as their "wing-person", P.J. walks into a bar, immediatly disgusted with the crowd there. "Oh my god. I think I just got chlamydia." Her dry humor and sarcasm is something I can definitely relate to. And I love the fact that it takes place in Chicago. A lot of the places they talk about are places I recongize or have been to. When agreeing to a date at the top of the John Hancock building, P.J. quips, "On a clear night, you can see all the way to Gary, Indiana. I know a few steel mills with some pretty cool tours." I think I just love this show because I can see myself in a lot of situations that the show presents and the way the characters can say anything to one another because that's how close of friends they are. TBS is airing the first two full episodes that you can still watch here. One of the cast members describes the show as "Sex and the City meets Friends but with a different set of friends in a different city." No matter how you describe it, I love it.
