Must Reads

I miss Barnes and Noble so much. I don't have one near me where I live. I only have a Borders and for some reason, to me at least, those stores don't seem to have books. Whenever I'm back in Ohio, I go to Barnes and Noble because there's one right down the street from our house. This Thanksgiving break, I bought two amazing books that I probably wouldn't have found if I didn't have the store to wander around aimlessly.

The Illustrated Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - This is one of my favorite classics of all time. My first copy of this book was a cheap little paperback and I read it so much that it actually is falling apart. I saw this book and yes, I could have bought a cheaper copy but I couldn't. Not after I saw that Dame Darcy had illustrated the story. A comic book artist/illustrator, Darcy has definitely given the book a refresher, helping the gothic love story appear even more so.

Wolf Boy by Evan Kuhlman - A 13-year-old, Stephen, tries to come to terms with his older brother's death by creating and drawing a comic strip in which his alter ego, Wolf Boy, battles evil doers, like the man driving the truck that smashed into his brother's car. This book is unlike anything I've ever read. Half fiction story, half graphic novel, this book is definitely one of a kind and amazing at that.

Good thing my mom bought me a membership to Barnes and Noble. For as much as I read and for as many books I buy, she'll get her money back in no time.

Yea! I was just one my way to class and I thought that I would check your blog for updates real quick and now I'm late. So that's not what I'm yeaing about. But I am happy because if Katie reads it, then it's awesome. Sadly, I only have a Borders near me too - you know that one Katie. We walked past it that one night we were both way to drunk to be thinking about books and Jimmy had to carry you and you were talking about books. You're such a fun, yet literary, drunk.
