The Most Influential Americans
The Atlantic has created a list in which it ranks the 100 most influential Americans in history. Remember that this list is not about popularity. It is about the influences these people have had on this country. For instance, I may not be the biggest fan of #85, Ernest Hemingway, but I can't deny the impact his writings have had on literature. I'm sure my dad, a huge history buff, will enjoy this list. I'll be honest. I didn't know a lot of these people. Does that make me a bad American?

I don't mean to be unpatriotic or anything but Abe Lincoln as #1? Wow, that was a surprise. This was a man who allowed the rich to pay their ways out of the draft and let the poor guys do all of the fighting. That's a great leader.
