Melissa finally arrived last night. Her bus was scheduled to come in at 6:20 but she called around 6:05 and told me that she was already at the station. I wonder if these Coach buses can actually fly to get through city rush hour traffic. I picked her up and we were so excited to see each other. She thinks I'm all grown up now because I have a purse. And she cut her hair to her shoulders! That was the biggest surprise for me. Melissa has always had the longest hair. She said she was hungry but she didn't know what she wanted so I took her to the Sip n'Bite which has pretty much everything on the menu. I have only eaten there for breakfast and after last night, I'll probably still only eat breakfast there. Dinner was ho-hum - definitely not the best meal I have ever had. I'm so happy and excited that she's here. We've already fallen into our old behavior of saying the dumbest things.
Me: Steve (our friend from college) is in South Korea?
Melissa: Yeah. He's teaching English. But it's weird because I didn't know he knew how to speak South Korean.
Baxter greeted her in his usual psyhco Dr. Satan manner which wasn't the best thing because

Melissa isn't a dog person. She should have a few interesting days with him. I bought him this gigantic bone at Walgreen's that was on sale and he's been distracted by it so hopefully he won't bother her as much. Yeah right. I have made very loose plans for the next couple days she's visiting and tonight, we're either going to go see
Bobby, which has everyone and their mom starring in it, or
The Departed. As a big of fan of Scorsese as I am, I am ashamed to admit that I have not yet seen this movie. Melissa practically foamed at the mouth when she found out. She has no problems seeing it again.
On a completely different note... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! Your card is in the mail and hopefully the postal service has not lost it like that one card I sent you a few years ago - which will probably arrive one day to our complete surprise.

Your choice for a "big night"
Fish Fry / Dinner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church or Fish Fry at the American Legion.
Baxter will win any stare down contest with Melissa. Those black eyes are as cold as stones...
