Lazy Saturday

My Netflix movies finally arrived yesterday, which was wonderful timing since right as I was leaving work last night, the rain began and didn't let up until around ten or eleven. It was pouring down which later turned into freezing rain. It wasn't exactly a pleasant night to be out doing anything so I stayed tucked inside my warm house, watching Christine and The Shining as Baxter barked at the rolls of thunder. Letting him outside was fun since he didn't leave the porch but still managed to get soaked.

I woke up around 3 am because I thought I heard something and in my sleep, I just assumed it was Baxter wanting to be let out. He hadn't bothered me all night so I figured it was time for him to go. But when I flipped on my small lamp, I saw Baxter sprawled out on his dog bed. He didn't lift his head or move. He simply opened one eye and glared at me. I quickly apologized and turned off the light. Apparently, he's very much like his owner and does not like to be disturbed when sleeping.

Today has been wonderful even though it's only 1 o'clock. I got a good night's sleep and woke up awake and refreshed instead of cranky and dreading work. I've already straightened the house, done laundry and washed the dishes. It's raining again so I'm going to stay indoors, watch movies and do some writing. I've had the worst writer's block. I think it's because I don't have a good desk to write at. I'm very picky with the enviroment I write in and one of the things I need is a desk. I've been looking at secretary's desks but nothing so far. I have the perfect spot in the house for one though and I can't wait until I have one.
