Take Your Dog To Work Day

Today at work was quiet, which I love. I hate when phones are ringing off the hook, thousands of things have to get done by the end of the day and I just generally hate being at work then. But today, there were about six people in the office and it was rainy and dreary out and usually with weather like that, things seem to slow down. I was finishing up my last task of the day and was looking forward to the weekend, especially to the chicken and pasta I had made for myself in the crockpot for dinner.

It was around 3:20 when Linda same-timed me - which is an instant message system within our company. She was asking me to go home and bring Baxter back here so everyone could meet him. Baxter is famous in the office. I have pictures of him on my desk and they know some of the stories of the devilish dog. I agreed even though I was nervous that he would pee in the office. Thank goodness Bob, our boss, was away for the week. When the cat is away, the mice will play. Mark, one of my coworkers, has had westies like my mom has had scotties. He knows these dogs and I wanted him to look at Baxter because I don't think Baxter is a full bred.

Baxter was a bit scared at first, coming into the office. It was a new place with a group of new people. Mark took him off his leash, promising me that he would clean up any mess Baxter made, which is good because the puppy peed in the hallway right before we left. Everyone kept asking me how old he was as he sniffed all around the office because five of the six people there have dogs and they were amazed that a 6-month old puppy had such an incredible sense of smell like my puppy has. Dad said the same thing a few days ago. Baxter seemed to be a big hit even if Mark did tell me that he definitely wasn't a fullbred westie. Perhaps he really is a westscott. "And I shall create a new breed of dog!" I don't know how I feel though about living in a world where Petland lies to its customers on the quality of their puppymill dogs.
