Another Weekend Gone

I love weekends where when you look back on it, you realize you didn’t do anything and it was wonderful. This was my weekend. Actually, that’s not true. I did typical weekend things on Saturday. Chrissy stayed with me Thursday and Friday night since she had some business in Chicago to do on Saturday and had to leave exceptionally early by Saturday morning standards. Baxter had to use the bathroom so I was up anyway to see her off. The Home Depot door fiasco is finally taken care of when the man installed them Saturday morning for about 3 hours. Baxter was holed up in my bedroom for the entire time, which he was not pleased about in the beginning but eventually just fell asleep. The doors are so wonderful and I realize how horribly boring my life has become since I was so excited about getting next doors. Baxter likes the front one since he can lie down and still survey the property without having to stand up on his hind legs. And since we bought the doors specifically for Baxter and Max, I suppose it’s a good thing that he’s enjoyed them. I cleaned the house on Saturday, doing at least 5 loads of laundry, washing dishes and straightening the bedrooms and bathroom up. There was a marathon of Project Runway on and as always that was distracting.

Friday night was a lot of fun. After I came home from work, Chrissy and I went to Kohl’s, Marshall’s, and Target, looking for something for me to wear to Heidi and Dan’s wedding, and then Burger King so she wouldn’t pass out since she said fondue food wouldn’t be enough to fill her up. After that, we went over to Heidi and Dan’s house for their get together, which was quite small and relaxing – Heidi, who screamed when Chrissy walked into the house, Dan, myself, Jim, Janet, and Bob with Mary showing up later. We sat around and helped make the wedding reception favors even though I didn’t help that much because I’m lazy. Chrissy made a lot but she said that was only because she had to make up for my slack. As a bridal shower gift, Heidi and Dan got a fondue pot so we tried it out on Friday, which turned out quite disastrous since Heidi and Jim kept losing their food in the cheese and Jim dripped cheese all over one of the favor’s envelopes. Still, picking on one other for 4 hours straight was a lot of fun and it’s nice to have people my own age to hang out with. I can't wait for the wedding next weekend.
