Such a beautiful day outside! It puts me in such a good mood – much better than I was yesterday. Linda is gone for the rest of the week but so far, work hasn’t been that awful. I mean, I’ve been busy and buried to my eyeballs in things to do but that’s ok. I’ve noticed that when you’re ridiculously insanely busy, work just flies by all the faster. I sent out two quotes this morning, made several phone calls, tried to fix a customer’s problem, put together some submittals for another order and all the while, somewhat knowing what it was that I was doing. I’m quite pleased with myself. That and my parents told me last night that there is always someone like the dumper in any job I could possibly ever have. My cousin Donna, who told me about this job I now have, was at Auntie Ann’s birthday party on Sunday and my dad was talking to her about our work. Apparently, no one in the office is a fan of the dumper so it’s nice to know that I’m not alone or that I’m completely insane.
I went home for lunch, as always, and let Baxter run around the yard. He of course was more preoccupied with rolling around after being cooped up in that small crate so we went back inside to eat chicken patties and watch a marathon of “Project Runway” on Bravo. We went back outside because I knew he had to go, that and he kept going to the front door, which has become his signal to me. So I took him outside and as he was rolling and running around after peeing (good boy!), the mail truck pulled up and our friendly neighborhood mailman came up, holding my month’s issues of Elle and In Style. Baxter was quite excited to meet someone new and the mailman had a milk bone for him as a treat. It’s his way of making new friends, he said. It was so nice of him and to give Baxter a treat right after he peed was perfect timing. Baxter was quite pleased and trotted into the house with the yellow bone firmly, yet carefully, between his teeth.
