Baxter woke me up at 7:50 a.m. with his crying so I stumbled from bed and took him outside where he peed and pooed - Good Dog! - and then I tried to fall back asleep but I couldn't so I sat in my armchair, hating that I can no longer sleep in with having a puppy but then around 9, I decided to give sleep another try. Baxter passed out in bed with me and we didn't wake up unti 10:30. He's actually a good dog to share a bed with. He just passes out and sleeps for a long period of time. He does have the ability to take up some of the bed but I won't complain about that. He has had several accidents in the house today though so I'm a little perturbed. That and he was constantly humping the pillows on the couch. He's 5 months old! He shouldn't know what humping is! I hid the pillows in the spare bedroom and that seemed to stop him. For now. It is his 5 month birthday today though so I bought him a stuffed animal at Petsmart. Hey. He's my baby now. I must spoil him.
I went to Target, one of my favorite stores, today where they were having an insane sale. I bought the first season of Nip/Tuck, the best season in my opinion of the show, and Entourage, the first season, for $18.99 each. Amazing prices considering how much both shows originally cost, somewhere in the high 30s or low 40s. I wanted to get The Wire, season 3 but I didn't want to spend another $80. The Wire is without a doubt, hands down, one of the best shows on television, and also one of the most unwatched. An intricate show revolving around the city of Baltimore and the drugs and crime plaguing the people on both sides of the law. I own the first 2 seasons and desperately want the third. Maybe next weekend.
I tried to straighten up the house a bit today but didn't get very far. Tomorrow will be my cleaning day. Yea. Now, that is what I'm looking forward to. Spending my Sunday cleaning.
My parents upgraded my cable for the house and I have about 20 movie channels now. After watching Tony Montana and the infamous shootout at the end of Scarface, I got sucked into a movie I had always wanted to see but never got around to it. I MUST own this movie. Magnolia is 3 hours long and was a movie that when it ended, I didn't want it to. It's from the same writer/director of Boogie Nights so the plot is intricate and interweaving with multiple characters, dark and depressing but so good leaving such an impact on you, you want to watch it again immediately. Magnolia follows the lives of 9 people through one random day of their lives, all connected one way or another to a television show "What Do Kids Know?" God, just thinking of this movie again... I wish it was showing again right now. I'd watch it again for another 3 hours.
John C. Reilly and Melora Walters in Magnolia

"I can't let this go. I can't let you go. Now, you... you listen to me now. You're a good person. You're a good and beautiful person and I won't let you walk out on me. And I won't let you say those things - those things about how stupid you are and this and that. I won't stand for that. You want to be with me... then you be with me. You see?"
Amazing dialogue, amazing actors including a lot of actors from Boogie Nights, and an amazing story. Few movies like this are made anymore. Which is unfortunate. My friend Adam and I love watching Boogie Nights so maybe next time we hang out, I'll convince him to watch Magnolia too. It can be a marathon. I do love movie marathons.

The best part of Magnolia is, without a doubt, Tom Cruise!
